Quote from Principal, Gillian Dineen:

I am delighted that the hard work from our pupils and staff show our success at both sustaining the significant improvements in GCSE results we achieved over the last two academic years, as well as achieving a number of record-breaking results for the Academy.  It is wonderful to see so many of our pupils celebrating fantastic GCSE results and looking forward to their next educational steps in September. Everyone’s journey through to the end of year 11 involves dedication and hard work, but Delia’s results, of 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s, show that there is nothing that our pupils cannot achieve if they believe in themselves and work hard.”

Below are some of the exceptional results that Drapers' Academy pupils have achieved. Some of these reflect pupils who have worked hard to achieve multiple top GCSE grades and others represent stories of pupils who have triumphed over real adversity to secure the grades that will take them on to college and sixth form.

  • Delia S : Grade 9 in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Literature, Geography and History. Grade 8 in English Language, Maths and German.

“I am really happy and I really want to thank my parents and my teachers because they helped me achieve this. We moved here from Moldova five years ago, so it has been quite a journey with lots of challenges, but it is really nice to see all the hard work I have put in pay off. I am looking to study English Literature, History and Economics for A level, with the aim to go into Law or International Relations as a career.  I am going to be celebrating with family and friends for the rest of the day.”

  • Vishali C : Grade 9 in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Geography. Grade 8 in Business Studies, English Language, German and Physics.

“I got four 9’s and five 8’s and I am really proud.  I am going to stay at Drapers’ for Sixth Form and study Maths, Chemistry and Business as I really like it here and know the teachers. My mum and sister are here with me today and they are so happy for me.”

  • Kristupas K : Grade 9 in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, plus a distinction in Music.

“I did pretty well, and the subjects I tried the hardest in are the ones I got the best results in, so I am happy with that. I think my family will be proud when I tell them, and I’m going to celebrate with my friends today who also got their results. I am planning to study Physics, Chemistry and Maths at A level and then hopefully study Engineering at university.”

  • Olly R : Grade 9 in Maths. Grade 8 in German and Physics. Grade 7 in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature and Geography.
  • Ryan F : Grade 8 in Biology, German and Maths. Grade 7 in Business Studies, Chemistry, Geography and Physics.
